“Shengli Theater of Zhejiang”Shengli Theater of Zhejiang was founded in 1934. As one of the uppermost professional theatres in Zhejiang located adjacently to scenery West Lake and on middle section of Yanan Road---the commercial center of Hangzhou City, it seats 982 in audience hall, 636 seats around dance pond and 346 seats upstairs. In the past over seventy years, the theatre has experienced storms and rains, a history of frustration and brilliance, and has been under reconstruction and expansion of many times. Especially in recent year, millions yuans have been invested to make a throughout fitment and reconstruction to the theatre, which has presented the theatre a entirely new look and a firm standing in Zhejiang province.
　　The rebuilt theatre is equipped with the best and all the necessary stage facilities. The newly added are 8 unites of SGMGalileo 1200 from Italia, 12 unites of access lights of electric scan, 8 unites of sound facilities ---ALTEC LANSING DTS640 of 3 frequency and one unit of low frequency sound box---ELECTRO-VOICE TL880D from America, and other advanced facilities, all of which can used for all large-scale performances.
　　The theatre is not only used for showing performance, movie and digital video but also functions as hostel and restaurant. In the past fifty years, hundreds of famous domestic and oversea shows, players and troupes have once satisfactorily played in the theatre, such as the well-known Swan lake by Guangzhou corps de ballet, White-hair girl by Shanghai corps de ballet, Angel’s city by famous player Cai Qing from Taiwan, USA Maryland Young Symphony, Candan Eight Rainbow, Russian Model corps de ballet, Zhejiang provincial Xiaobaihua Yueju troupe , Jingju troupe and drama troupe, etc. The theatre ‘s philosophy as “Consider people firstly and provide service best” receives favorable comment from both theatre troupes and audiences.
　　Many Chinese experienced players and artists have performed in Shengli Theatre, including Gai Jiaotian, Ma Lianliang, Tan yuanshou, Xu Yulan, Wang Wenjuan, Hou Baolin, Linshuang, etc, and many former state leaders had once came to see performances, such as Zhu De, Zhou Enlai, Chen Yun, Deng Xiaoping, who all placed great hope to the future development of the theatre.s
